  • Nearly Massless Particles

    Particles smaller than 0.5 µm, which typically constitute less than 1% of the total mass of particles typically found on outside air, but represents a large percentage of the total number of particles in a typical sample of air. (Due to the exponential increase in the mass of a particle caused by an increase in the diameter, very small particles typically represent a small fraction of the total mass of particles in an airstream).
